North Korea’s ‘Hunting Yankee’ game lets players kill US marines (PHOTOS)
The first ever first – person shooter game developed in North Korea called “Hunting Yankee” has given gamers an idea of what it is like to kill US marines in combat.
Information about the company that developed the game is still scarce, however screenshots from the game show a player firing at soldiers who look remarkably similar to US marines.
North Korean media has already started promoting the game, describing it as a “combat game in which US soldiers are shot down in the context of injustice.”
The release of the game has gained a lot of attention with the heightened political tensions between Washington and Pyongyang.
In addition to intense diplomatic activity, the two countries have also mobilized their military forces in various defensive and offensive exercises. North Korea’s threats to strike the US territory of Guam isn’t helping either, even though it came as a response to Donald Trump’s statement that he will unleash “hell on Earth” should North Korea jeopardize the sovereignty and interests of the US.
The new North Korean shooter game has stirred some controversy, but it is essentially no different than most US developed war games who feature similar scenarios, like Call of Duty and Battlefield.
As a matter of fact, in 2009, the second installment of the Call of Duty game featured a special forces mission allowing players to carry out a massacre in a fictitious Moscow airport.
